If we take Jesus’ words in the great commission seriously, everyone who calls themselves “Christians” is called to do one thing: share Jesus and how to follow him with everyone we encounter. 82% of people who aren’t Christians would go to church if their friend, co-worker, or neighbour invited them. That’s most unchurched people! We are living in a time where people are interested in spiritual things and we need to be equipped to share Jesus well with the people around us. In this session you will be equipped to share Jesus through gospel conversations in your everyday life.
Taking care of ourselves in this fast-paced culture can be a challenge, especially when life is continually changing. We move quickly through different phases of life and can become overwhelmed with trying to stay healthy and balanced. How do we sift through all the media and “voices” telling us how we need to accomplish this? God’s Word teaches us how to take care of ourselves, for His purposes and His glory. In this session, we will discuss how to make wise choices that position us on the path to healthy living–physically, emotionally and spiritually, without caving in to making self-care “all about me”.
In a culture saturated with sex, the focus on doing what feels good is the main objective. Many Christian relationships have crossed over and look more like the world’s view on sexuality. Rather than a pursuit of Christ, many have blurred the lines and holiness is no longer fought for or even valued. In this session we will discover that we are the bride of Christ. We will learn how to step into our role and not only protect purity but promote it in our daily lives. The information discussed will be relevant for women of all ages (including teenagers) who want to live out purity and influence the next generation.
In a world with endless opportunities, responsibilities and expectations we can easily find ourselves in a time management crisis. Maybe we blame it on the pressure of media or family, but is there more to it? Maybe we really love all the things we are doing, but just can’t keep up the pace without feeling the tension in our chest choking the life out of us. In this session, you will discover how our view of God, our view of self and our priorities have a lot more power over our time management, than the pressures of life. You will also learn some practical tips on eliminating “busy” from your life in order to stay on mission for God.
Are you a mother/mentor to children God has placed in your life? Do you need a boost of both encouragement and biblical direction? We can get lost in the implicit and explicit messages telling us that mothering is hard; you need to take care of yourself; and be sure not to lose yourself. Self-focused mothering is exhausting. But God has called us to find our strength in Him and to boldly influence the children that have been entrusted to us. In this session we will discover how to shape our own heart in His so that we can disciple our children with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We trust that as we unpack God’s promises, you will leave being more equipped to live on fire for the Lord and rise up to tackle the adventures of discipling your children.
Have you ever been duped? Promised one thing and yet received another? I have bought into lies on many occasions, wasting time, money, and energy in hopes of receiving the satisfaction, security and success promised. Our world whispers, and even shouts, lies to us daily. Many of these lies are dressed up as ‘truth’, drawing us away from our Saviour and into bondage, over-promising and under-delivering EVERY single time. As followers of Christ, we know that the truth will set us free (John 8:32). Join us as we discuss lies we encounter and how our loving Father desires for us to know truth in the innermost parts (Psalm 51:6). Let’s change the channel and train our hearts to love the truth, goodness and beauty that is found only in our Saviour, Jesus!
